"Love your families. Love them so well that they see the good fruit of your life" It's such a strong concept (and so hard to do) that loving somebody despite of how they treat or view you. But I agree, it's how real change actually comes about❤️

Mad along with you. Mama of a gaybie who is thriving - and who was the strong medicine I needed to wake up from my evangelical certainty. Dinner tonight with in-laws who are struggling with me sharing my story publicly (a book about how I accidentally discovered beauty in all that I once feared). Channeling your love for your mama as I sit with them in love, with fierce boundaries and courage.

As you should be! I am on a journey to redefine my faith after what this type group has done to taint my mind and spirit for so long. I just can't and won't accept the type of hate a group who is supposed to love gives out. Thank you for this.

Does anyone have any solid or even lived advice for loving a family that rejects this part of me and thinks I'm going to hell?

It's so hard for me to compartmentalize because I know what they think about me.

Yikes so much theologically wrong with this article. Missing fundamental truth of Christian faith which is we are saved not by our good works but through Jesus. The Lord Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by Me” (John 14:6) Therefore we lay our shortcomings, sins, and temptations down at the cross and follow his Biblical teachings.

Fellow queer family here, Jed, and I am just so grateful. You’re always so responsible in your discourse and it’s a gift to feel your righteous anger. I’m right alongside you. In the anger and the love. Thank you.
